We are excited about the opportunity to join ParaSwap DAO and become part of its governance process. We aim to contribute significantly to one of the most important DeFi aggregators in the crypto ecosystem, through a dedicated team of SEEDGov members, passionate about ParaSwap and committed to governance activities.

Our delegation will include the entire SEEDGov team at disposal as well as other consultants necessary for the comprehensive elaboration, assessment and analysis of proposals.

Introduction - What is SEEDGov?

SEEDGov is a dynamic and evolving vertical within the SEED Org ecosystem, dedicated to shaping the future of decentralized governance in the web3 space through active participation, community engagement, decision-making, and experimentation. Our approach stands for minimizing governance where appropriate and professionalizing it where necessary.

We are the first Latam-based Delegate Platform actively engaging in various governance activities. Rooted in community values, we’ve shifted from educational models to a participatory approach, driving a new chapter in how individuals collaborate, coordinate, and decide in the ever-changing landscape of Web3.

Our scope of work across various projects and protocols includes managing grant and allocation programs, designing and implementing governance infrastructure, creating and overseeing incentive programs, and onboarding builders to meet protocol needs.

How we work

As a professional delegate platform, SEEDGov collaborates with communities and partners to ensure credible representation of all interested in Web3’s future. Since its inception, SEEDGov has advocated for critical thinking through education. We do not endorse scams or collaborate with blockchains, projects, or protocols that are not aligned with our core values.

The members selected to be part of our delegation will collaborate both directly and indirectly with other SEEDGov members. Any decisions made by this delegation regarding governance will be thoroughly discussed and communicated to all stakeholders through our discussion channels and seamlessly executed through specialized working units.

Driver and Values - SEEDOrg>SEEDGov>ParaSwap

Participation in forum discussion threads and daily activities represent the opinions of SEEDGov and collaborators in their efforts to stay up to date with their roles and commitment to governance; Regular discussions occur prior to deciding our next steps and opinions about governance topics that arise, all through this profile.

Our delegation will do its utmost to represent and embody our values to enhance ParaSwap governance:

  • Decentralization: ParaSwap is one of the most important DeFi aggregators in the crypto ecosystem that unites the liquidity of decentralized exchanges and lending protocols, and all of our initiatives and proposals will be aligned with the goal of strengthening and enhancing the decentralization of both protocol and the DAO. Along with this position, and as the ecosystem continues to mature and be driven by its community, we will collaborate in the creation, iteration, and improvement of governance processes to ensure broader participation and that the system remains secure.
  • Community Led Growth & Sustainability: We will promote and support all initiatives that enable the growth, adoption, scalability, integration with more protocols and innovation for ParaSwap ecosystem. Our focus will be placed on ensuring that all growth initiatives are reliable, secure, and sustainable over time.
  • Security: We will always make sure that no DAO decisions will jeopardize the security of the protocol and thus harm users.
  • Ethos and Support: We will actively contribute to the governance of the protocol and its ecosystem worldwide, looking forward to working with other interested delegates to promote the ParaSwap mission and encourage others to actively participate in DAO governance.

Our case

Overall, DAOs face significant challenges: lack of participation, token holders’ apathy, organizational difficulties, and a tendency to become slow, inefficient organizations, among others. ParaSwap is logically not the exception, but we believe it has incredible potential, which makes it an excellent opportunity for every participant in the ParaSwap community to mitigate and avoid these kind of situations and look towards the growth of the DAO and the protocol as a whole.

Given the current state of governance in ParaSwap DAO, we have identified some areas as priorities and recognize the need to implement measures to refine processes, enhance the quality of discussions, increase and incentivize participation from various stakeholders, and decentralize voting power to achieve a higher degree of development and resilience for the DAO.

To initially achieve this, we will focus our efforts on engaging with and promoting several key ideas that we believe are crucial:

  • Governance System: We see significant potential for enhancing the governance system through comprehensive analysis. It’s essential to establish the scope of delegates and their tools for governance action in detail.
  • Delegates Framework: Creating appropriate incentives for delegates can address several of the previously highlighted points, fostering greater participation in debates and voting, enhancing debate quality, incorporating critical voices, and overall decentralizing the decision-making. All this taking into account and being careful to avoid token farming (time-limited pilot programs might be a solution to consider).
  • DAO Activities: Initiatives like GovCo, which directly involve the community in DAO decisions, help maintain interest in governance, and can provide significant value if well implemented. We believe it’s necessary to review these initiatives, adjust parameters and objectives according to ParaSwap’s needs to continue them effectively, along with the discussion of introducing new governance roles to bring in new actors to contribute to strengthening the protocol in its various scopes.
  • Communication Efforts: Maintaining communication with all stakeholders is crucial; this ensures that DAO participants understand that governance is active and dynamic.

COI Disclosure:

SEEDGov is a broad organization with high participation in some of the most prominent governances in the ecosystem such as Optimism, Arbitrum, Uniswap, Gnosis, Starknet, Lido, Everclear (Connext), zkSync, and Maker. As mentioned above we come to ParaSwap Governance to bring value, in case there is any conflict of interest, we will communicate it to the community members.

PIP-53: Revision of Social Escrow Expiry Claims

We support this proposal which will simplify the process of claiming rewards for PSP stakes. This change will benefit not only ParaSwap by moving towards process automation, but also retail users who will be able to stake small amounts without worrying about having to claim their rewards before the expiration date, thereby avoiding significant gas fees relative to the rewards. As a result, this could incentivize an increase in PSP stakes.

Proposal: PIP-53: Streamlining of the staked PSP incentive system

Vote: For

Rationale As we stated during the debate, we support this proposal, which tends to make the ParaBoost system simpler and less complex by removing mechanisms that have proven to have low usage by users and low impact on the volume of the protocol. We understand that simplifying the system will be positive both for the protocol, by avoiding spending resources/time on managing low impact mechanisms, and for users, who will be able to understand the currently very complex system more easily. On the other hand, we don’t see any negative consequences.

Proposal: PIP-54- Delegate Program Trial Period

Vote: For

Rationale We voted in favor of this proposal of our authorship, as we are convinced that having an adequate delegation framework will allow ParaSwapDAO to have better tools to increase PSP participation in voting, reverse the concentration of voting power, increase the quality of debate and bring new voices and visions to the DAO, which will mean a stronger and more resilient DAO with a more solid and debated decision-making mechanism. Furthermore, since this is a trial program with no budget allocation and no activity required from the DAO, there is no impact. Once the trial period is over, we will be able to review whether it has been successful or not, and the DAO will decide whether to continue or not, and under what terms.

Proposal: PIP-55- Reward Mechanism Automation

Vote: For

Rationale: As we anticipated in the debate, we supported and voted in favour of this proposal, which automates the calculation and distribution of the gas refund, significantly reducing the possibility of error in the current fully manual system, making it a more robust, robust and reliable system, as well as more efficient from an operational perspective. This has been much needed and long awaited at ParaSwap and is a step forward. We also understand that the budget required is reasonable.

Proposal: PIP-56: Implementation of Project Miró Roadmap and Migration

Vote: For

Rationale: As we have already stated in the discussion in the Project Miro Roadmap - A DAO Beyond Aggregation post, we support and vote in favour of this proposal, which initiates the most important change in the history of the protocol and its DAO, which we understand will be highly beneficial, and which we also addresses many of the concerns and questions we raised in our Driving Protocol Success through Optimized Governance post and does so in a way that we strongly agree with, giving the DAO a key role in decision-making and even in the design of many of the ideas outlined in the proposal.

Also, given the current state of the crypto market, we believe it is a very good time to address these important changes.

Finally, we would like to thank @laita for taking the feedback received on the initial post and removing the strict allocation of funds and making it optional to allow the DAO and the community to further discuss this important issue.

We look forward to being part of the discussion and shaping the next steps!

Proposal: PIP-57 - PIP Lifecycle Improvements

Vote: For

Rationale: We voted in favour of our proposal as we believe that the proposed improvements to the PIP lifecycle will bring more information, detail, and a more robust process to the DAO’s decision-making process, which will in turn strengthen the DAO itself.

Proposal: [GRANT REQUEST] OAK Research Grant Proposal

Vote: Against

Rationale: We voted against this proposal for the following reasons:

  • High price: We have read the reports linked by the proposer from MegaETH and Pyth Network (PYTH) and our opinion is that the budget required is too high for the extent of the work merely described. We highlight that the proposer has reduced the initial budget required by 25%, but we maintain our opinion that the price is still high.

  • Limited reach: The above mentioned regarding the length of the articles should not necessarily be a demerit if the reach of the audience is important, but in this respect, and based on the web metrics highlighted by @Avantgarde and the publications of the X account of the proposer, we note that the reports have a limited diffusion reach for what we understand should be the needs of ParaSwap.

  • Low impact: Related to the previous points, we do not see descriptive reports about ParaSwap with limited distribution being effective or impactful.

  • We would like to point out that the proposer has not respected the DAO governance framework (not the recently voted one, but the one that has been in effect for several months) regarding the way to submit his proposal, not proceeding to properly name -Proposal Number & Name- what should have been submitted as ‘PIP-58’.

Proposal: PEP-08: Upgrade Module End-of-Life Strategy

Vote: For

Rationale: As we have already stated during the debate, we voted in favour of this proposal as it will make it easier for sePSP1 stakers to migrate without having to wait the 28 days. It is a positive gesture by the DAO towards the token holders who support the token at the staking level, and at the same time it does not involve any cost, but once the process is finished, the tokens will be returned to the DAO treasury.

We also thank the proposer @0xYtocin and the ParaSwap team for accepting our suggestion to set a 120 day deadline for sePSP1 stakers to migrate through this beneficial system, after which they should proceed with the regular withdrawal mechanism and times. This will encourage stakers to migrate quickly, thereby speeding up the migration process, while also placing a cap on the DAO’s lending for this purpose.
